2/5/14 – cYc introduces a Cape Fear Region Weather and Tides web page. Using the KISS principal, we are offering information of interest only to local boaters and those transiting through our area. We invite you to check it out. Simply go to our home page at: www.carolinayachtcare.com and click on the Tides and Weather banner at the top. This page is for you. Please let us know what you think. Email me at: email@example.com with your suggestions. Thanks
1/13/14 – cYc is proud to have been chosen by skipper/owner J. Feeney for Watchdog(c) monitoring of his beautiful Fleming 55 – M/V Kathleen. Thanks for entrusting cYc with your vessel!
12/15/13 – cYc is proud to have been chosen by skipper/owner V. Beck for routine Watchdog(c) monitoring of his beautiful S/V Frances. Thanks for entrusting cYc with your vessel!
12/10/13 – cYc shows its flexibility in providing outstanding customer responsiveness and service. What started as a routine shuttle ride for the skipper and crew of the visiting Motor Yacht “The Gator”, an Outer Reef 65, grew to include provision of our Watchdog Yacht Monitoring Service and finally to providing crew for their trip from Southport to Miami. With uncooperative weather, the skipper decided to leave The Gator in Southport over Thanksgiving. Taking advantage of cYc’s free shuttle to Wilmington Airport for skippers of boats in our care, The Gator was left in our care for 10 days. Then when his crew became unavailable, he asked cYc if we might provide crew. Experienced offshore sailor and cYc owner, Hank, joined the skipper for the 4 day journey. Our thanks to owner Jim Hammel for entrusting cYc with his beautiful yacht.
11/4/13 – cYc is MOVING. On 11/10/13 we will move our base of operations pier side at Southport Marina. This move will make us more centrally located and enable us to better service customers throughout the Southport area. We look forward to seeing you there.
10/23/13 – cYc kicked off its inaugural shuttle service designed to provide visiting boaters an affordable and efficient transportation alternative for provisioning and taking care of shore side errands. The initial service will run on a schedule once a day from area marinas and then be available for personalized trips on an as requested basis. The shuttle is one of several services identified by visiting boaters as a “must have” since our marinas are all distant from supermarket shopping. The cYc shuttle will help make visiting boaters stays more convenient.
10/19/13 – cYc was pleased to participate in YachtVenture 2013, an annual event to raise money for the Children’s Museum of Wilmington. Hosted by MarineMax of Wrightsville Beach, the evening included a live band, plenty of food and a silent auction. The highlights of the event however are the Yachts, who’s owners bring them to the gathering for attendees to wander through and enjoy.
9/28/13 – cYc formerly presented itself to the boating public by participating in the Annual Southport Wooden Boat Show, which was a great success. Founders and owners, Hank and Lisa Pomeranz “manned” the display which included marketing materials, free handouts on Hurricane preparedness, a drawing for free services and, of course, plenty of candy to entice folks to come over and say hello. This is definitely an event we’ll want to participate in next year.
9/21/13 – cYc is proud to have supported the 8th Southport Annual Military Appreciation Day (MAD). The event hosts active duty troops for a day of fishing and food. Over 50 private fishing boats and many landside volunteers hosted 120 Army, Marine, Coast Guard and Navy men and women.
9/19/13 – Sponsored by the City of Southport, Hank presented a free seminar for all area boaters entitled “About Hurricanes and Storm Vessel Preparation”. This was the first of its kind for the city. We received excellent feedback from the audience which will lead to improvements for what we hope will be an annual event.
